  • How does the word counter work?

    Just paste or write your text in the field above. The counter updates in real time showing the number of words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, paragraphs and estimated reading time.

  • The ideal is for an email subject line to have between 6 and 10 words (40-60 characters). Shorter subject lines tend to have better open rates because they are displayed in full on most email clients, both on desktop and mobile.

  • Each channel has optimal length limits. An email subject line that is too long gets cut off on mobile. A meta description that exceeds 160 characters is not displayed in full on Google. A tweet that exceeds 280 characters cannot be published. Counting words and characters helps you adapt your message to each platform.

  • Reading time is calculated assuming an average speed of 200 words per minute, which is the standard for on-screen reading. It is a useful estimate for planning the length of newsletters, blog articles and other content.
